Filecatalyst | Clearswift

In December 2019, Clearswift was acquired by HelpSystems (now Fortra), joining a portfolio that includes GoAnywhere MFT, FileCatalyst, Globalscape, Boldon James, and Digital Guardian, among others.

The GoAnywhere MFT system (which often sits behind FileCatalyst acceleration) sends the file to the Clearswift ICAP Gateway .

Unlike traditional filters that only look at file names or extensions, Clearswift’s engine "dissects" the file. It can look through multiple layers of compression (like ZIP or RAR files) and even inspect embedded objects within documents to identify hidden threats or sensitive data. 2. Adaptive Data Loss Prevention (A-DLP) clearswift filecatalyst

Defense agencies operate over IP networks (SIPRNet/NIPRNet) with massive latency. They need FileCatalyst to move satellite imagery. They need Clearswift to strip metadata (GPS coordinates, timestamps) from images before they leave a classified environment.

: Intercepts file transfers to run rule sets such as keyword searches, script removal, and executable renaming. In December 2019, Clearswift was acquired by HelpSystems

: Standard internet file transfers rely on TCP. TCP requires an acknowledgment for received data packets before sending the next batch. If data travels over vast geographical distances, latency causes transfer speeds to collapse.

Clearswift FileCatalyst can be implemented on-premises, in the cloud, or in a hybrid environment. The platform provides a range of support options, including: It can look through multiple layers of compression

Clearswift: Deep Content Inspection and Adaptive Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

It maximizes bandwidth utilization regardless of network distance or latency.
